11 Apr The Rare Glenlivet Winchester Collection Vintage 1967 Completes The Trilogy
The Glenlivet Winchester Collection Vintage 1967 is a 50-Year Old blend of rare single malts, with a limited run in bottles globally.
In partnership with award-winning British designer Bethan Gray, Glenlivet has created a handcrafted bottle and case to commemorate the third and final installment of their Winchester Collection.
With a price tag of $25,000, scotch whisky enjoyers will be able to get their hands on a piece of history. It’s a blend of rare single malts that showcases over 40 years of dedication to scotch.
The number of bottles produced will be limited to between 150-155 bottles and with its slow maturation in fine American oak casks, it should be a heavenly taste for those lucky to try it.
With this being the final installment of the Winchester collection it would be a great trilogy to complete. Especially with the addition of the other two bottles, the Vintage 1966 and Vintage 1964.
The bottle is blown by master glassblower, Brodie Nairn and then hand-cut to desired size, creating an ombré color that mimics the aging process of the Scotch whisky. The bottle is then engraved and handpainted, quite a big job for more than 150 bottles. The design continues with detailed copper accents and the mother-of-pearl inlaid into the case, representing the local freshwater pearl mussel shells found in Spey River.
